Herstory: Giving Special Attention to the Experiences of Women

Ever notice that when something gets a whole month devoted to it, it’s usually something that has been neglected?  You’ll won’t see National Twitter Month, or National Athletes Month.

March is Women’s History Month.  As the Siren Supreme Mother Gloria Steinem said, “Women have always been an equal part of the past.  They just haven’t been part of history.”

All month long from Amelia to Zora, we will celebrate women in history, and more importantly, women who were left out of history. From women who lived before us to women in our own lifetimes and lives, we will salute our sisters by sharing their stories. And we’ll be asking you to salute sisters who have made a lasting impression on you, too.  These women may not all be famous, but they should not be forgotten.
