Nurturing Creative Women Since 2013

“Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don’t feel I should be doing something else.” Gloria Steinem

We are a community of women writers and educators who nurture creativity and resilience.

We believe:

art is an act of courage

all stories are worth telling

you deserve to be paid for your art

as women you deserve equal representation

you deserve support, acceptance, community, and encouragement

when we support each other, we cultivate courage, dignity, and innovation.

    • I’m glad you asked! The glib answer is that you already are a siren. Yay! The short answer is you can’t. At least not yet. And the honest answer is I don’t know. Enough people have asked that I worked it into today’s post. As you’ll see, we plan to address the matter this weekend. It means a lot to us that you want to be part of it, and we’ll do our best to find a way to make that happen.

  1. Hi,

    Thanks for the outstanding posts.
    I liked reading them.

I am running the I.A.C – Inscribink Authors’ Circle. We are a developing website with 10K+ followers on Facebook.

Would you be interested in sharing one of your articles on our website ?

Or, would you be interested in being one of the writers on our ever developing website project?

Thanks for considering. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Regards,

  3. Have you considered that the numbers might not tell the whole story? Maybe women naturally gravitate towards specific genres leaving others denude of the feminine presence? If the numbers are more generic, female writers versus men across the entire spectrum, then I agree it is troubling but what is the value of breaking it down more specifically than that? And before anyone jumps to call me anti-woman or anything, I write my as-yet-unpublished science fiction with my wife as the co-writer. I love hearing all sorts of voices on subjects.

  4. Great main pic on this page and I like the way you cropped it. Or was that you? Was that the format it came in? Either way, full marks for choosing the illustration of the unclothed gentlewomen. I enjoy the creative package ‘The Gloria Sirens’. In particular I love the line: ‘LEAP OUT OF THE DEEP AND SING’.
